Good and Bad News

I try to be a pretty positive person but I am going to give you the bad news first. I don't think I am going to make it to 20lbs by July 1st. I weighed the other day and I was at 137.7 and we only have a few days left. I am pretty upset and blame my lack of focus on my goal.

The good news is that we decided to go ahead and book the birthday trip and I am going to continue to work on my weight loss! This trip has been a huge motivator for me and I have been noticing changes in my body that I am really excited about.

Exercise!

It has been waaaay to long since I posted. It's mostly been because I have not been doing that well. I have been at home a lot and when I am at home, I feel like I can have whatever I want to eat. We are back out on the road and I am doing much better. I have also started exercising with some friends of mine. I know that it will make a huge difference. I am going to try to to weigh in the next day or so because it is getting to the final countdown!

Compliments!

I got 3 compliments yesterday on how good I was looking. Now mind you, it was my mom, my sister and my husband but it still made me feel really great. It also makes me realize that all the sacrifices that I am making are worth the effort! Yea!!!

First Month Weigh In-Thank you Budlight Select 55!

Ok, so I am really late posting this but I weighed in on May 1. I weighed 143! Down 8.1 pounds for the first month! I was so proud of myself. I had been doing really well keeping within my points range and I attribute a lot of that to Budlight Select 55. It is the new Budlight with only 55 calories per bottle. That make each bottle only one point instead of two. Now how can it only have 55 calories you ask? It is because it basically has no alcohol in it! It is below 3.2 beer and they can't even sell it in liquor stores. I don't care though because it satisfies my "relax at the end of the day drink fix" I can't wait to see how much I have lost by month 2!

Adding Exercise

I have been walking at a very brisk pace for an hour both yesterday and today with my mom and my sister. I would like to start doing some other exercises too. I know that it will really help the pounds go down more quickly. I also need to hurry up and post some "before pics!"

Weigh In

I did my first official weigh in today. We have been really busy getting everything ready to leave town so I didn't get a chance until today. I was not expecting much. I have been eating better but not exercising yet. I got on the scale and couldn't believe what I saw. I actually weighed 3 times to make sure that it wasn't a mistake. I weighed in at 145.5! That is down 5.6 pounds. I am so excited and encouraged. Only 14.4 pounds to my goal of 20 pounds. And from there, who knows?!

I have been doing really well the past few days. I have been eating greek yogurt for breakfast. I had been wanting to try it and I finally bought some. The cup is much bigger than I am used to eating but it has 12 grams of protein! It is 3 ww pts and that is usually the amount of points that I try to eat for breakfast. The texture is really creamy. I got it for 39c a cup after coupons. Yummy and cheap!

I have also been trying to eat up some different things in the house before we go out on the road for a few weeks. I hate throwing food away so we have been eating some pretty random meals. It is a good thing that Dion is not picky. Ha ha!

Official Starting Weight

I did the official weigh in this morning on my mom's scale because it is going to be the official scale. She has a nice weight watchers scale and mine is pretty old and not so accurate. Soooo...... I weighed in at 151.1. I was really hoping to start at under 150 but it doesn't surprise me with all of the eating and beer drinking that I have been doing of late.

The reason that I am starting this self-imposed challenge is that I obviously want to be healthier and look better but I have another twist to it. I am going to be 30 on October 18 and my mom has generously offered to take my younger sister Carly and I on a girls trip for my 30th. I decided to use this trip as some major motivation to lose weight.

Here are the Rules:

1. I must lose 20 lbs by July 1, 2010
2. If I lose 20 lbs before July 1, I must maintain that weight loss
3. 19.5 lbs will be rounded up to 20 lbs (This rule was a request of Carly's. She really wants to go on this trip!)

If these Rules are not met by July 1, NONE OF US ARE GOING ON THE TRIP!!!!

Getting Started

Today is Sunday, April 4, 2010. This is the day that I am going to take control of my life. I am a happy newlywed in the last year of her 20's. I am also in serious need of a weight wake up call. I am 5' and 1/2" (when you are this short, you count every little bit!) and I am at least 30 pounds overweight.

So I am going to make my proclamation today: I am going to be Thin by 30!!!

Tomorrow, I am going to post my stats and give you the details of my genius plan!
